Laboratorio Sedimento:

ensayos de cuerpo, memoria y futuro

Sedimento es un taller laboratorio interdisciplinar que integra performance, escritura, dibujo y danza. Centrándonos en el cuerpo y el movimiento, integraremos herramientas de composición, improvisación y dramaturgia para indagar en el terreno complejo del Chile actual. A través del juego, generaremos conexiones históricas y presentes, y profundizaremos en técnicas de creación colectiva que llevamos desarrollando en nuestra obra Sedimento, actualmente en proceso. ¿Qué papel juega el cuerpo en los procesos sociopolíticos recientes? ¿Qué me es lo más urgente en mi estado presente, y ¿cómo imaginamos el futuro?

El taller será realizado por los co-directores del colectivo Sedimento David Legue, bailarín y performer, Cristóbal Racordon, artista, bailarín y mediador de arte, ambos de Valparaíso, y Eryn Rosenthal, bailarina, coreógrafa e investigadora norteamericana.

El taller está orientado a toda persona que sienta interés en los temas propuestos, sin necesidad de dedicarse exclusivamente a prácticas de la danza, improvisación o artes escénicas.

La semana antes del taller te proponemos anotar tus sueños al despertar, además de traer al taller 4 a 5 objetos que representen los últimos cinco años para tí.

Sediment Lab:

Studies in Movement, Memory and Future

Sediment is an interdisciplinary workshop laboratory integrating performance, writing, drawing and dance. Centering movement and the body, the workshop integrates composition, improvisation and playwriting tools to investigate the complex terrain of current-day Chile. Through collective creation games that generate historical and current connection-making, we will delve into collective creation techniques we’ve been developing in our dance theater work Sedimento, currently in progress. What role does the body play in recent sociopolitical processes? What is most urgent to me in my present moment–what are my stakes in it, and how do we imagine the future?

The workshop will be facilitated by the co-directors of the Sedimento collective David Legue, dancer and performer; Cristóbal Racordon, artist, dancer and art educator, both from Valparaíso; and Eryn Rosenthal, US dancer, choreographer and playwright.

All bodies and abilities welcome. This workshop is open and appropriate for anyone interested in the subject matter.

The week before the workshop, we recommend writing down your dreams when you wake up. Please also bring 4-5 objects that represent the years since the estallido for you.
